@OP, where did you get the lace fabric on the bottom? That’s the kind of lace I’m looking for to make a bolero.

Another trick for working with satin is to pin/baste some tissue paper (like the kind used for pattern paper) on the under side of the seam (the side that will be against the feed dogs). This gives more traction to the feed dogs and helps prevent the slippage that can cause puckering.

When you’re done you just gently and carefully tear the tissue paper away.

I used this when making a silk charmeuse dress on my ancient machine that has a tendency to be a little overzealous when it feeds fabric through.
