FI-to-be (MJ) went and had the mole removed. We had to change the appointment and unfortunately it was changed to the first week that I was out of the country on a two week trip! I was all ready to cancel it, but MJ said if I did he wouldn’t let me come with him anyway, so I should go – I’ve been planning this international trip for months and he didn’t want me to miss out. After a lot of arguing (I really wanted to be there with him) we decided he would go by himself. Everything went well, though MJ almost fainted – he said he could hear the cutting, as the mole is close to his ear!
The Doctor said if the results came back saying it was cancerous, or had potential to become cancerous, they would then remove all the other moles that are similar (another 5 on the back and sides of his head).
It was a tense week and a bit, waiting for the results, but we got them back the last week and they were all clear!
I have to keep checking the other moles and if they start changing again, he’ll have to have them removed and checked, but for the moment, we are so relieved!
I just wanted to give an update and to once again thank all the amazing bees who shared their stories on my previous post and to those who private messaged me words of support.

@Mischka: I’m so glad to read this!! Just to make him feel better I almost passed out when I had a mole removed from my neck. I could hear it and feel the tugging and the epi in the anesthetic doesn’t help lol. Anyways I’m so glad to hear it was clear!! I recently had a mole removed and it was a pre melanoma so I know how stressful something like that can be and again, I’m so happy to hear that y’all can finally relax 🙂

Glad to hear all is well.
I didn’t see your previous post so I apologize if this has already been said…Don’t forget to look for miles on his scalp (in the hair) and between the toes/ bottoms of the feet. I have a ton of moles that get checked twice per year and my derm had to remind me many times to check those places.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I am glad! It can be pretty scary. I had carcinoma removed in January and the biopsy and removal really sucked, so I feel for him. My Mom is constantly getting new carcinomas and while the odds of it turning to melanoma are low, I completely understand the anxiety that the word “cancer” causes. Make sure he wears sunscreen and covers up religiously!

It’s such a horrible thing to hear, as soon as it’s spoken you just feel panic. Bleugh.
