@So_Confused: She could be lying about the dates, or your Darling Husband may just honestly forget.

Your calcs seem correct to me!

The best way to settle this is to get a DNA test, immediately. Are there any labs in your area that you could go to? It should only take a week or two for the results.

I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this.

@So_Confused: Those calulations are impossible to make due to the fact that everyone’s cycle is so different, implantation could take place 3 -10 days after conception, due dates are a best guest (maybe she didn’t really know the first day of her last period and guessed).

Try not to play the what ifs until the test comes back. Good luck and I hope you and Darling Husband will find a way to get through this together if it turns out to be his child.

@So_Confused: The home kits are actually quite reliable as well.  Just make sure that you really follow the directions and don’t cross contaminate the sample with any one else’s (ie: You!) DNA.

Good luck with this all.

What a tough situation.

Like a PP said, it is impossible to really know by your calculations if it is or isnt his child. You are probably stressing yourself out more by trying to figure this out. (I dont blame you though, Id be stressed as hell too)

I really hope everything works out for everyone in this situation. The poor baby deserves to have a father in her life that cares and loves her.  Good luck to you guys.

@So_Confused: Nothing will be 100% until you get those test results in your hands. I think trying to calculate it so there is “no way way it could be his” would make it harder if it comes back that this child is his.

I wish there would be a way for one of us to be able to figure the likelyhood out for you, but it just isn’t possible. This has to be such a huge thing for the two of you to be going through. I hope that regardless of how the test comes back, you and your husband are able to support each other and get through this rough time as strong as ever:)

@ieatunicorns: Even with the DNA tests they only say they are 99.7% (or something like that) accurate.  I find that a little funny, because it is so exact.  But they use those types of terms in court.

@So_Confused: The fact that the woman has said that he could possibly NOT be the father makes me think that maybe she has dates mixed up herself.  And with your own knowledge of the paperwork of them meeting in April…

@So_Confused: Hang in there. I read the other post and it said that your Darling Husband watched her take the MAP.  If she took that, the pregnancy outcome likelihood is so low.  Even if they had sex without a broken condom, the chances are low that she would actually get pregnant.  And with the MAP pill, the chances are statistically negligible, IMO.

The only thing that is gonna make you feel better is the test!  How long do the send away ones take?

@So_Confused: First, I’m so sorry you have to go through this situation.  It’s gut wrenching, I’m sure.  Second, pregnancy calculations are kind of tricky.  I don’t want to make you feel worse about the situation, but using my pregnancy wheel (which is what most doctors offices use to calcuate weeks and dates), with a due date around Jan 12, conception would have likely occurred around April 23.  However, due dates can be off unless you are actively tracking ovulation.  But by this calculator, it might be possible timing wise that the child is his, but it could just as easily not be.
