That’s great!  Pears are so uniquely beautiful!  I just love mine!  I have posted it a lot, but I will post it again!  Its a little bigger than you want, but its still a pear!  For me, a pear is safer in a six prong.  I didn’t know they put pears in anything else.  They should have a special pear head.

@kansas_nurse:  I would!  I feel mine is very secure that way.  How exciting that you get to see some tomorrow!  Aw, thank you!  Mine is .81 carats.  It is a pretty good diamond.  Even Jareds is sometimes curious as to where I got it…and it came from them! lol  Every jewelry guy tells my fiance good work. @kansas_nurse:  Oh my, I am too!  When I bought mine, it was a really good deal.  It was pretty cheap and they told me that is because it had been sitting there, while the other diamonds were being sold.  So I got it at old diamond price.  So its either that they are starting to come back in demand or they are one of the least common.  I can tell you, i never thought I would get a pear shaped diamond.  I was set on a marquise.

I love that ring with the pear instead of the marquise!  Great choice!

While I didn’t have a pear, I had a marquise, so I guess there’s the same concern regarding chipping, snagging, etc. I never had any issues. I wore it for 17 years.

Pears are gorgeous, go for it!

My pear is in a 3 prong halo. It’s 1 carat.
