It depends. I had to get it added because my setting was originally meant for a princess cut. It cost about $300 to add the v tip. If I would have chose a different setting meant for pears, then it would have been standard.

I have never had a problem with mine and I like the fact that it’s different from most rings.

@kansas_nurse  Thank you.  I love the design you picked with the sapphires.  The older I get, the more I like color mixed in with diamonds.

I love my pear! My absolute favorite cut!!! BUT… If you’re a nurse, judging by your user name, you’re going to hate it at work. It will cute EVERY pair of gloves you wear. I’m consideringgetting a flat plain band just for work

I dont have a photo but yesterday I saw the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen in person and it was a pear ring! It was just gorgeous. Go for it 😉

I do love me a good pear cut. If I could have whichever one I wanted, it would be this! I have a few oddly shaped rings and they’ve never caused me any trouble. I’m sure a wee pear will be fine for everyday wear.

@kansas_nurse  I love that you went back to your oringal design because of the meaning and it’s just so pretty.

I used to have a pear from Blue Nile. It was gorgeous so you’re good there. As for comfort it was just as comfortable as any other ring for me. I think what determines comfort is the setting not the stone shape (I used to think the same thing). Cathedrals are uncomfortable for me. As long as its set low I can handle it. The cathedral settings from Blue Nile aren’t very high I’ve noticed.
