I think the idea is adorable but I am one of the people that would leave it behind.  I have never been able to keep a plant alive.  I have a black thumb 🙁

I wouldn’t like that kind of favor. It seems like a pain to take home, especially if traveling long distance and wearing nice clothes. I would leave because I’d be worried about getting the dirt all over myself.

I think they’re very cute! Two suggestions, though:

Plan for some folks to leave theirs (not gardeners/cooks/etc), so have a plan for the extras (take them home, nursing home for the residents, etc).

Perhaps provide an easy way to transport them. Even a little box with a hole in the top to settle the mini-pot would encourage me to take mine home. I really don’t like when plants tip over in my car, and if your guests are a little tipsy, it’s very likely they’ll spill dirt in their car.

I think its cute, but i’m a plant killer. I guess bamboo is really hard to kill since its so easy to take care of…yea I killed it. lol BUT, my SO would be thrilled to get the potted herb. He would probably take any that were left behind. 😉

I think it’s adorable….but I would probably leave it behind because A) I’m not good with plants, and B) after a few cocktails at a wedding, I wouldn’t feel like carrying it home.  I know that’s ridiculous, but what can I say, I know myself. Tongue Out

I would love fresh herbs as a favor! Seriously, I would be excited, I’m a nerd like that lol.

On the other hand, I know a lot of my friends aren’t interested in that sort of thing, so I’d count on some to be left behind (though I think you should count on this for just about all favors, so don’t let this deter you!).

i think it’s adorable! as long as you have mostly local guests–we had a lot of out of towners flying in, and i know i def wouldn’t want to fly with a plant

It is cute, but I’d probably leave it behind.  I can kill a cactus within days.  It’s a skill, really.

But in all honesty, I’m not a gardener, so it wouldn’t appeal to me.  Plus, it wouldn’t have much use in my apartment.

I more than likely wouldn’t take this home if it was given out as a favor.

I would love this favor.  I would also love to do it myself, but a lot of the guests will be from out of town, so it’s not really practical for me, unfortunately.
