for a buffet?
French Bread w/garlic butter
Panzanella Salad – this has romaine lettuce, olives, tomatoes, onion, pepperchinis(sp), artichoke hearts, and a couple other things I can’t remember. It will have balsamic dressing. It is a very pretty salad. Most of our guests will love everything in it. I will be picking out 99% of it and giving it to my Fiance.
Roasted Cornish Hens
Baby Back Ribs
Roasted Potatoes
BBQ Beans
Sliced Fresh Fruit – watermelon, honeydew, cantelope, grapes, pineapple, and strawberries
White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate Dipped Strawberries & Housemade Truffles
For desert we will also be having our cake and homemade by me chocolate chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies with the homemade vanilla favors.
The portions for these are quite large. When we did our tasting, we ended up bringing home enough leftovers to have for dinner.

That sounds pretty good – I love panzanella. The only thing I might add is a pasta option or something for the vegetarians (unless you know that there won’t be any).

Thank you bmore. There will only be one vegetarian, and she isn’t a true vegetarian, so I should be okay.

I’d add another vegetable – i think of salad separate from dinner, and a lot of people don’t really eat beans. Not me, I love them, but if you had another healthy veg option i think that’d be good.

Thank you Melissabegins. It is a very small wedding, 50 guests; just family, and they all like beans. I don’t generally like beans at all, but these were really good.

That sounds like a lot of food! If you want to add something else, def go with another vegetable, that might be the only thing it’s missing 🙂

Mmmmmm, yum, you had me at “french bread with garlic butter!” I think it sounds delish although maybe another veggie might be nice (maybe corn on the cob? green beans?) Overall tho, I would be an EXTREMELY happy guest at your wedding…

Being a vegetarian myself, I have on occasion eaten fish when there was no other option, and I actually had to stop because people didn’t think I was really a “vegetarian”…so I would say, if you would like to be extra kind to the one person who you know is a vegetarian, to add a special meal option just for her. Because even if you don’t think she’s a real vegetarian, she would probably prefer a vegetarian option rather than try to pick out something to eat just because there aren’t any options and people don’t think she really is.

Thank you ladies.
@Melissabegins: If you are in the neighborhood, I am sure we can work something out 🙂
This particular venue, http://www.mamastortinis.com, does have free tastings. They serve normal portion sizes for everything. We were truly amazed. They even brought us additional items to taste that we hadn’t gone over in the phone consult. We just asked, and they brought them out.

@andreaandchinelo: We did think of that, but she is family, and I have seen her eat at her place, where she has more of a choice, and also when we go at, and she has a choice. I think she just says she is a vegetarian because she thinks it sounds good.

Thank you brittanymichelle.
We wanted something that was kinda down home and not like other weddings.
