I am def. bored with my ering. Instead of upgrading my e-ring (it’s already pretty blingy) – I opted to purchase different rings in the styles I love – a rose gold solitaire and a rose gold halo with a barely pink sapphire. That way I can switch between the three without issue. I’m sentimental, but I love changing out my ring depending on my mood or style.

I changed my center stone from a halo that Darling Husband proposed with to a simpler setting. No regrets here and Darling Husband was totally on board with the reset. It was important that I be able to pair my ring with a wedding band easily.

mrsczup478:  I don’t think I’d change it! Just wait until you have your wedding band and spice it up that way 🙂

mrsczup478:  I actually have the ring you want to reset it to with diamonds on the band and wish I had a plain solitaire!!  Have you tried it on with potential wedding bands to see what a set would look like yet?  I would recommend doing that before changing anything make sure you will love the entire set.

I think you should add to it by way of ring wrap or enhancer. Its something so amazing in the rings simplicity.. Plus the fact that thats what he picked for you

I feel like I am in a similar situation OP. I basically chose my ring with my fiancé and as soon as I finished choosing I started thinking of all the “what ifs”. I was and still am considering having my diamond re set into a thin pave band but like you I go back and forth with uncertainty. I go online to look at micro pave settings and think it’s great and then I look at pictures of my ring (it’s at the jewelers at the moment) and am in love and can’t imagine changing it. So confusing! Lol.

I agree with PPs that a plain solitaire really makes the diamond pop! But that extra bling is also nice. Ultimately go with your gut! Good luck!

mrsczup478:  I agree with previous posts about changing it. Go with your gut! I love my ring but something was bothering me about it. I chose it but didn’t totally design it (family friend jeweler put his own spin on it). Even when I emailed what I wanted he went with something else. Now mind you he did great and it’s lovely but it’s not totally what I wanted and I changed my mind and now I’m in the process of changing it. My husband said go ahead you’re wearing it! Lol good luck 😉

I would definitely, definitely try it on with some of your top wedding band contenders. Wedding bands change the whole look and can add a huge bilng factor.

Also, I know you’re phrasing it as just “adding diamonds around the band,” but it’d essentially require scrapping your current setting and getting a new one, so I’d make sure you’re ok with letting “the original” go (for sentimental reasons).
