We’ve been engaged a couple of months and still haven’t. Maybe we won’t. It took us over two years to finally put that we were in a relationship.

We were in the Bahamas when he proposed with no cell service. I managed to find wi-fi and email my parents and his family (who all already knew it was happening). Then, we waited till we got back to the states 4 days later to call our friends. After everyone important knew, we changed our FB statuses.

    I did the day of.

After calling parents and texting siblings. I think I told Maid/Matron of Honor first.

So I had like 6 people I needed to know, and then I made it public.

we were both dying to but waited until we had got our families together to tell them. But then we just wanted to shout it from the rooftops!

Fiance and I are having that problem. This is partially due to the fact that I feel no rush to change it since we wont be married for about 4 years. I figure once I tell all the important people, I’ll change it and let the rest of the world know. That might be later this week or later this month. We’ll see.

I updated it the next morning. He proposed in the afternoon and all that night we celebrated with his family.

I waited until I told my parents, which wasn’t until after I got the ring, which was about two weeks later.

Ahm. Well I was totally the last to know he was proposing when he did. We ordered the ring and he told me it was going to take 4-6 weeks to come in (and I totally bought it) when in reality it came in 2 weeks later. So my mom had already told everyone what my Christmas present was going to be. Thus, I had nobody to call and tell so my status was updated the next morning (he proposed at a Christmas light festival at like 10:00 pm).

We WERE going to wait until the next day so we could enjoy the rest of the day without our phones blowing up. But once we told our parents, FI’s mom told his whole family and his aunts starting posting congratulations on our FB pages. So we kind of HAD to update our status then. But we called close friends and told them first so they wouldn’t find out online.

It’s funny. I actually was filming the helicopter ride when he proposed. So I just put a photo of my hand with the ring that said “Engagement Mode Unlocked” & BAM we had a bunch of FB comments. We went to go play games at Dave & Buster’s & played Fruit Ninja & drank beers & had the dessert fondue. LOL. It was epic.

We were sitting drinking our beers & put the helicopter film & us playing Fruit Ninja on FB. When we got home, he updated our Status to “engaged” & I accepted.

All throughout this we ignored our phones being blown up by txtes & phone calls.

I felt like I was a kid that won the blow up shark at Chuck E Cheese from playing Whack A Mole. That’s the best way to describe it.
