Hi Bees! I have a round, chubby face (it is adorable!), and I’d love an updo for my wedding. The problem is that I see all these beautiful photos, but most of them are side shots, so I can’t tell what these girls look like from the front. I’ve attached some inspiration photos, and I would love to see your photos!!
p.s. I usually wear my hair in a messy bun, so I want something a bit more elegant, and I LOVE braids and bangs! Just not sure if a chubby face can pull the braids off …
p.p.s. Still don’t have the headpiece/veil situation figured out!
Love the bangs:
Afraid this looks too much like what I wear every day:
A little bit messy, but I’m dying to see what she looks like from the front:
Elegant enough for a wedding? How would this work with a veil?:
Love this! Works on a round face?:
The final effect is incredible/this is probably my favorite style:
Gorgeous, but need a front view:

The part and hair around the face has a great effect on Ginnifer’s face:
Kirsten rocks the updo with short bangs!
Kirsten rockin the braid:
Adele rockin the braid!!

@aekc: Although I didn’t have the braid, I am going to include my pic because not only do I have a chubby face (and weird ass chin), but I did a low messy-ish bun. I do have bangs but side swept:
My veil wouldn’t stick under my hair so I had no choice but to put it over the top, which sucks but still looked very gorgeous. I think, had I added braid since you are more specifically looking for braids, would have been very pretty with my messy bun “updo.”

@megz06: Beautiful!! You are gorgeous! I love your bangs and the back is elegant/messy 🙂 Love it! Thanks for sharing. Did you figure all this out during a trial? (Asking because I won’t be in town in time for a trial.)

@aekc: Aww well thank you! Actually, during my trial I hated my hair. One of my inspiration photos was this:
And the gal I had made the bun really tight, slicked both my bangs back, and just didn’t capture the messy low bun I was expecting (my makeup was also running after half an hour). I figured it still looked decent, and I didn’t have time to do another trial so I would forget about it and just go through with it or find another hairstyle that maybe I liked more (I was used to high updos).
Come the day of, I find out that my original hairstylist ditched without telling me, so I had a different girl. Well, I freaked out even more, but she ended up doing a FANTASTIC job (also had a new makeup artist and she also did a fabulous job. I had to do one touch up before the wedding), and actually captured my inspiration pretty darn close given that I had shorter hair than the girl in the pic.

I think you have a GREAT eye for hair styles that will flatter your face shape!
My favorite is the slightly side-swept chignon with the loose strands in the front (on top of the also gorgeous how-to shots)

@aekc: Love this, exactly what I was looking for! I have a very round face, big eyes and hear alot that I’m “adorable”. Kinda wanting to go for elegant instead for the wedding though!
These are my inspiration pics, not sure if I want the braid, but kinda keen on a mix between these too, or even a french twist at the bank while incorporating the loose, messy look.

I have a chubby face and I am doing an updo (August wedding, if I keep my hair down I will sweat bc its super thick). I had my trial a few days ago and loved it off my face…this is what I am having
