So, I’ve decided that I would definitely like to wear my hair up for the wedding (I have a beautiful lace back to my dress that I don’t want to hide!). However, I have very fine, thin hair. It’s very long and very soft, but it’s difficult to work with.
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for updos that would work well? Pics of your hair would be greatly appreciated!

I had fine just above shoulder length hair for my wedding. I was going to get clip in extensions for volume to help my hair stay. I opted out of it….but I hear it is a great option for fine/thin hair.
My hair would have looked fuller if I used the extensions but since I kept my veil in all night I didn’t bother. I was happy anyway.

I have long, fine hair also. I am planning to have mine teased (just for body) and then smoothed out into a low side bun/chignon. I saw this at one of my friend’s weddings, and I love that it is a timeless, classic style that doesn’t fight against the texture of my hair.

I have long, thin hair as well. Fortunately, so does my hair stylist so she’s no stranger to working with it! I sent her a few inspiration pics and we both like this best:

My hair trial isn’t until March 28, but I’ll be sure to post pics afterward!

@barika: That looks gorgeous! I would think you had reaaaally long hair or thick hair with how that turned out. I love how the curls add volume and texture. I might have to try something like that. Unfortunately, since my veil is Cathedral length, I can’t really wear it all night, but from that pic your hair looks like it would have been beautiful even without the veil!
@SavBride: Very true! I’ve worn my hair like that in a few weddings I’ve been in and it’s always worked really well with my fine/thin hair. I just want a new style for my day. 🙂 But finding a style that won’t fight my hair type is tricky.
@madteaparty: That looks like a great inspiration pic!! The girl in the photo doesn’t appear to have tons of hair either. Definitely post pics after your trial! I want to see how it turns out! 🙂

I have super fine hair that doesn’t have really ANY body in it without product. I just had my hair trial the day before yesterday and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do an updo without extensions, but my MUA/stylist assured me we could do the updo with just my hair. It turned out great!!
Here’s a pic of my hair normally:

And here’s what we accomplished at the hair trial:

Sorry for the huge! But even though this isn’t the best shot, I assure you it was full and made me look like I had thicker hair than I do. It can be done!

I also have baby hair so the stylist used extensions at my trial. Super easy to use as they clip right in. Here is what the back looked like:

This was from a bridal inspiration shoot that I modeled for last year. I have baby fine hair and was positive that the hair stylist wasn’t going to be able to do anything since we weren’t using extensions. Curls and hair spray go a long way though!
I’m having a half up half down style for my own wedding, but this was so pretty for the shoot.
Keep in mind, that you can always get clip-in extensions too. Remy hair is what my stylist recommends, and I’ll be getting them to help give my style for the wedding a little bit more volume. 🙂

@CityBearBride: LOVE both of those. Adds detail without needing a lot of hair.
@BeeEuphoric: Thanks for those pictures! My hair is very similar to yours–just longer. And that’s similar to the style I’ve been considering. I like how the twists look.
@BrooklynBride2013: That looks gorgeous! I haven’t thought of extensions yet–may look into it.
@Pacificgirl: Oh wow! I love how your hair looks in those photos! Thanks for sharing. I really might have to look into extensions.

Another vote for clip in extensions. I used them and it made a world of difference!! Unfortunately I don’t have any really good pictures of my updo, but I had a victory curl on one side and a french twist in the back and it was AWESOME!!!

i have really thin curly hair and i am planning on doing a hairstyle like this one. I may opt for extensions though because i would like the bun to look fuller

@Brideonabudgetlauren: That sounds gorgeous!! Did you have an inspiration pic or just let the stylist do her thing?
