@Roxykitten:  Whether or not it is worth is based on what you value.

I will say, the downside about Iphones is that most companies (maybe not all) do not sell phone insurance on them, so if you break it/drop it/lose it, they will not replace it. Droids do allow for insurance (typically about $3-5 a month). If you are good with phones, then that is not a worry though.

I switched to a smartphone last year and I thinking about switching back to a normal phone. I am constantly using my data, but I could just log onto the internet instead and save about $300 per year. Sure, I love checking facebook/weddingbee and other sites, but a downside is that I am constantly “wired in” and sometimes neglect to do other things πŸ™‚

@Roxykitten:  Definitely buy a case no matter what you buy. And I would recommend a screen protector as well. I’ve had both androids and iPhones. Androids freeze so often it makes me want to literally shoot myself in the throat. iPhones do not. Almost ever. It’s magic.

I was hesitant on getting one too, but I did and I love it. It was about $20 more than my previous plan. My husband wanted to get me an iPad for Xmas, but I thought I’d then neglect my phone.

Ask yourself, do I need the Internet at my fingertips? Will I really use these apps? (I don’t use any I downloaded.)

Since most people I know that have them say they can never go back to regular phones since getting the iPhone, really consider if it’s worth it. Hey 30 bucks is 30 bucks!

@Roxykitten:  IPhone is super easy to use.!! I have an otterbox case and its the rubber one (so if I drop it, it has some give). Also, definitely definitely get a screen protector!!!

I made the jump to an iPhone after a keyboard only kind of deal, I made the switch about 2 weeks ago, and I really love it.  It does do just about everything, and for me, being in school, it’s really handy to have access to everything, all my calendars and lists and such, without having to open my laptop.  I was kind of resistant at first, but it’s been a great thing, and it was only about $15 more a month.  A fair bit of money on a student budget, but the phone (an iPhone 4) was free, so I took the jump.  If you’re already an iPod Touch/Mac user, you’ll find the experience pretty native.

before i got my iphone, i really thought they were too extravaggant. i mean, what would i do with all that technology?!?!

but now that i have one, i don’t know how i survived without one!! i use it constantly to play games, yelp things, google search things, etc. there are also several apps that i use weekly, if not daily, to help organize my life (calendar, alarm clock, nutrition apps, etc.)

finally, i loaded a few playlists on it so it’s my phone and ipod in one!

SO WORTH IT.
