They honeslty won’t do that.  I’m not even sure they’ll buy it from you for an upgrade.

Sorry I also don’t understand.  If you have access to discounted diamonds, what are you upgrading? The setting? So lost here.

I think she means she will purchase a newer diamond and ask for it to be changed by a jeweler. I think you can do that, but know you will be paying the cost of the new diamond (even if it’s purchased elsewhere) and the labor for the reset.

aqualeah:  they will void you’re warranty if you put a new diamond in you’re zales setting. My friend works at zales and my sister had the same question you have to buy the diamond at zales in order for them to honor you’re warranty. i would also be careful because I’ve heard horror stories about diamonds being swapped with retail stores. Trying to help you out best I can. Good luck

Hey there! I have studs from Zales- when I purchased them they explained the process to me and gave me some literature. They will not upgrade a stone, it must be a full peice that is being upgraded. You would turn the old piece in, they will credit you what you paid for the piece. The new piece must be at least double what the original piece was. Hope this helps…
