So, Fiance and I went shopping for our wedding rings about six weeks ago. He went with a Tungston band, which is very handsome; but I think he did it because it was the cheapest one there. I paid for our rings and told him that I wanted him to get whatever he liked. Since then, in passing, he mentioned once “I wish I had a gold ring”.
So, here is my thought. I return to our jeweler where they have his size, etc all documented. Find a gold ring that is similar in design to the Tungston ring he chose, and surprise him with it during the ceremony.
This of course would be his wedding gift. I know what he really wants as a gift is a Rolex, but I seriously cannot afford that. So the other alternative is some other nice watch, but I am just not sure that any watch is what he wants…since he has been talking about having a Rolex one day for as long as I can remember.
So, what do do? Upgrade the ring as a surprise? Get him a nice watch and let him know that one day I will upgrade it? Gift him something totally different?
Also, I would appreciate hearing if any other bride secretly upgrading her groom’s ring, and what his reaction was.
