the only reason to get the 5 is if you want a bigger screen.

I have a 4S, and Darling Husband has the 5. He had a 4S before the 5, and he says the notable differences are the bigger screen, it’s lighter, slimmer, and faster due to LTE network. But he’s the type to have to have the newest phone gadgets. I don’t see much of a difference bc I’m always on Wifi, and it’s not like the 4S is causing any wrist damage from me handling it.

I personally liked my 4S better.  The only reason I got the 5 is because my 4S was stolen.  I think the 5S or 6 will come out later this year.  I would hold out, personally and I say that because if you don’t use the WiFi much on yours, one of the biggest appeal of iPhone 5 is the LTE.  Other than that, it’s a bigger, albeit much lighter, brick.

I love the 4S.  My husband has the 5 and there’s no big difference, the 5 is just longer and lighter.

One thing he hates about the 5 is the battery life.  We both go to bed with the phones on 100%.  I wake up and my phone is on like 99% and his is sometimes on like 60%.

@SouthernGirl:  There is no way you’ve had the iPhone 4s for 2 years because the first delivery date for the 4s was October 14, 2011 if you pre-odered it before it was released (it was released October 28, 2011). If you’ve had your phone for 2 years, it’s the iPhone 4.

I wouldn’t get a new phone if I were you, if Apple will give you a 4s for free.

The LTE is SO fast- for me, knowing how much better the internet is, would be reason again to upgrade if I hadn’t already.

I’d stuck with the 4s and wait for the new iPhone this year. I have the 4s and just don’t feel like buying all new accessories (the charger plug is different, new cases, etc). When I get a new phone in giving android a try. I wasn’t impressed with the 5

I’m trying to decide the same thing right now. I have the 4S and I’m not having any issues with it but Frys is selling the 5 for 159 right now, and I can sell my 4S for more than that on Craigslist, or even sell it to Gazelle.com. I hear that they are much faster than the 4, but I don’t know about the 4S. Part of me feels like its too much of a hassle to go buy it and sell my phone, part of me feels like I should just upgrade. The annoying thing about phones is that if you wait through halfway through the year to buy the new version, you are already halfway to the next version!
