(Closed) Upgrading – what about sentimental value?

I think jewelry should last a life time since it costs so much, and therefore shouldn’t need upgrading. But that’s just my opinion and I understand that there are other women out there who would upgrade at the drop of a hat should the opportunity present itself.

I think it’s perfectly fine to upgrade since everyone’s financial situation changes and most people that marry young start out with a small carat diamond or cluster! 

I was VERY picky about my ring and picked it out all by myself my hubby just paid for it lol so there’s not much sentimental value other than I was married with it but I’m attached to it because it is so me and my style and I love it so much I couldn’t imagine changing the ring itself BUT I would LOVE to upgrade the center stone one day mine is a little under a 1/2 ct

everyone’s tastes change if my original ring was a solitaire but then one day I realized halos made my heart swoon I don’t think there’s anything wrong with changing it!
