In your case I’d wear the emerald cut on your right hand because you don’t consider it your actual e-ring.

I have no plans to upgrade but if I did I’d get the same cut and wear it on my left hand (I’d trade in my ering).

I have a round and I love that shape. If I ever upgraded I would probably just get a bigger stone, same setting.

Your situation is different because you want a different shape. In that case I would probably just trade the original stone in towards the new ring and get a bigger ct emerald. I do believe that emeralds came sparkle though! You just need the right cut.

In your case, I would set the original Ring Bearer into a pendant, and wear the EC in my original band, if a jeweler can make it fit.

In your situation, I would find a different emerald cut ring you love and wear it as a right hand ring.

I have recently fallen in love with cushion cut diamonds with a halo so it is my goal to get one as an anniversary ring but for my RH, I wouldn’t ever want to fully replace my e-ring.

@anotherbee: I know what you mean, I have a similar situation. I’m not sure if I definitely want to upgrade, but if I do it will be a WHILE from now.. maybe after a few years of marriage because my Fiance definitely wants me to keep the stone he proposed with. I would make that into a necklace, for sure. Since there would be no trade in it would definitely take a while to save up for a brand new diamond with a wedding and all!! So maybe a pendant would be the way to go as some other bees have mentioned previously.

Can you post pictures of what you have vs. what you want?? 🙂
