I compromised and upgraded to pintuck linens which was about 1/2 the cost of adding an overlay and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it.  The linens had such a huge impact, I think much more than incremental flowers would have.

@Amy43026: Since my contract already included standard linens it was only about $12/table for me to upgrade to pintuck.  Adding an overlay would have been around $25/table.

I just upgraded places that matter. So I upgraded my cake table, my sweetheart table and cocktail tables. I figured my regular tables were pretty enough as is.

I am upgrading the linens – using ivory lace overlays . . .

Here is my venue with standard linens and chairs

Here it is with upgraded linens and chairs

and here it is with no overlays but the upgraded chairs

I think it shows what a difference the linens and chairs can make 🙂

I added overlays and chair covers, I thought it made a huge difference and was shocked at how amazing the room looked!  I thought it made a much bigger impact than the flowers did.

I’m jealous yours came with standard black! Ours included white or ivory at no cost, but we wanted black tableloths with green napkins and it’s costing us $900! Eeek!!! If our numbers come back low enough we can use it towards our minimum though, so I am secretly crossing my fingers! 🙂 And I would LOVE pintuck but can’t bring myself to pay even more!
