@Oklahomagirl:  I see nothing wrong with upgrading if the couple can afford it. A ring should be something that the wearer loves IMO.

It’s between you and your husband. 

Some people would think it’s blasphemy to consider wearing or buying a new wedding band instead of wearing the one that my soon-to-be-husband gave me on our wedding day. I’m still going to buy one for myself after our one year anniversary because that’s what I want to do and that’s what works for us. 

 

It’s a personal decision. Go for it!

I read it, and my question still stands. So your reason for upgrading is ok, but other reasons are not ok. Got it.
