Hey fellow bees!
We know we want uplighting at our venue in milwaukee (1451 renaissance place) but we don’t know what color! Our colors are navy and yellow (and small amounts of cream and grey) i.e. navy tables with yellow and cream centerpieces.
We were looking at yellow or blue lighting–what do you guys think?

I would do yellow since the tables are navy. You don’t want an overwhelming about of navy since it’s so dark!

I say blue because I don’t really notice the yellow.

Yellow. It looks warmer and will be more flattering for photography and, well… food. Blue lighting sometimes makes food look gross.

I like yellow because it’s warmer and fits in with the classic look of the venue more. Blue is more modern and contemporary and I personally think it would look better in a more urban venue. Plus, the yellow is a nice accent whereas the blue is more “in your face”.

I agree with previous posters, the yellow looks much warmer. It’s not overly noticable but brightens up the room.

Also, if you wanted a brighter yellow, you could dim the lights a bit to make it more noticeable.

I like the warmnest of the yellow as other do. Is it possible for yellow during the meal and change it to blue for dancing?

Either color will be great for adding ambiance to your venue. If you use yellow, it will add ambiance without the guests even realizing it; if you use blue lighting, it will be a more dramatic effect, given the contrast between the blue light and the wood / cream colored walls. My personal favorite is the yellow 🙂

@erikaklemm2013: I like the blue lighting better. When I first looked at the photos of the yellow lighting everything almost blended in.
