It depends on your area, but that seems a bit pricey to me. My DJ/lighting company charges $500 for 10 uplights or $750 for 20. I negotiated so I am getting 10 uplights for $400 ($40 each), and yours are about $56 each.

I definitely think they make a difference in the ambience!

@tpinch:  I think it depends on your area…..what you’re describing sounds pretty reasonable to me. I’m paying $250 for 8, which includes set up, but that is after a LOT of shopping around, and ultimately going with a friend of a friend, which lead to an awesome discount.

I think thats a reasonable amount, especially because it will have such a dramatic impact on the overall room! I think it will really help if you want the room to feel more intimate.

I think thats such a great idea!!!

I was quoted about $1200-$1500 very consistently for our uplighting…I managed to find a new company just starting out and offering a 50% off special, so we’re getting our uplights for $650…my suggestion would be to go online and request quotes from several companies to see if this is standard but sounds good to me…and TOTALLY worth it!

That sounds about the same as what I ended up paying. I love uplighting and I feel it does made a big difference in a room.

I opted for pink uplighting in our ballroom for dance party and people really loved all the pink.

How much is the draping alone? You could probably just do one or the other.

That’s about what I will be paying. My venue holds 300 and we are only having 120ish. So we are uplighting and draping too make it more intimate.

Our uplighting for a room that can hold 300 people is $250. It comes with the room, though (as in, it’s already installed)

@Miss Orchard:

Can you send me the info for your uplighting company?? I’m searching for one in the same area and that sounds like a great deal!!

To drape the walls and ceiling it costs like 5,000$ here… not counting uplighting. You’re getting a great deal IMO but of course, it depends on the going rate where you are!

Go to an event rental store.  Can find in phone book or on line. You get more for your dollar.

I ordered my wedding décor from PeterCorvallis.com. I found their selection of table linens and props to be the best in terms of variety. They had many different colors and fabrics to choose from. I was very impressed with the quality of their products and the quick and easy service they provided.  I chose the “Tiffany blue” satin table linens. They coordinated beautifully with our chair covers and table accessories. We also ordered twinkle lights from Peter Corvallis Productions. I felt these added a special touch and made the ambiance of our wedding whimsical and fun.
