I see so many beautiful pictures of receptions that had uplighting, so now I’m wondering if my space needs it! I think uplighting can make a space soooo beautiful but I’m not sure if its worth the price. Do you ladies think that my space needs uplighting? Just for more information….the reception will start around 7:00

Your venue is lovely. I understand the concern about if you need uplighting or not– I went through that as well. But honestly I think it’s nice enough that you won’t need it, especially with all the windows.

Your venue is beautiful and I don’t think you’ll need uplighting. I understand uplighting in plain or challenging venues, but when a venue is so lovely, I think it’s unnecessary.

thank you ladies! I’m just so use to seeing so many wedding lately with uplighting, that I feel like if I don’t have it then my space will be boring lol…..I’m glad to hear it won’t be 🙂

Uplighting give “dimension” to a room that is void of features…
So when a Wedding is held at a Convention Centre for example, where all the rooms are big boring boxes with no windows, or an interesting ceiling

Whereas your Venue has both Windows and an architecturally interesting Ceiling.
That isn’t to say that Uplighting won’t look awesome in your space (if you have the budget) just that you can “get away without it” fortunately.
If you want to see the differences between how Uplighting works in a boring space, and an interesting one, check out this GOOGLE IMAGES search on – Uplighting = https://www.google.ca/search?q=uplighting&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=7xhlUoieHIPiyAGK1YFI&sqi=2&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=610&dpr=1
Hope this helps,

I LOVE uplighting! I don’t think your venue needs it though with all the windows and beauty as it is already, but it can’t hurt. Our venue is gorgeous, turn of the century stone pavilion facing the beach, but we’re adding uplighting just because I love how it sets the “mood” to a room.

@Scorpio88: I agree! I love how uplighting changes the entire mood of the event! Do you think it would be a waste of money if I got uplighting since I do have all of the windows? Will you be able to even see it nice the reception starts at 7?

@DGB38: I think so. We actually met tonight with a company who does uplighting, and talked for an hour about it with them. They confirmed my thoughts, it really sets the mood for the night. Our venue has windows too, unfortunately not as great as yours haha, but he said you would definitely be able to see it as that was a concern of mine too.
He gave me some great tips, like the farther away you space the lights, the more flow of colour you get, versus if you put the lights closer together, it’d be more of a “stream” if that makes sense. I googled “uplighting” on the image search of Google, and some gorgeous photos came up, some with large picture windows. Plus as it gets darker outside, I think that’d set the mood for dancing!
Also off topic, have to say I love your wedding date; it’s Fiance and I’s dating anniversary. 🙂
