when saving as a PDF did you optimize for web (or whatever that option is, i can’t remember…)?

i haven’t used vistaprint, but i’m curious! i finished my awesome Save-The-Date Cards as well and am shopping around for a printing source

@PinkMagnolia: i know, because i’m worried about quality loss as well! my unoptimized pdfs are 19 MB for the front, 10 MB for the back… x_x!!!

My first round of save the dates were only “acceptable” according to vistaprint.  The came out looking terrible.

I used photoshop (not sure if there’s a huge difference or not), but saving mine as a JPG was the only way they would work.

I can’t comment on the post – we just had a photo that the photographer had properly sized for uploading – but in response to the question about Vistaprint quality, our Save the Date Magnets were beautiful and looked expensive and high quality!  We went with the postcard-size which ended up looking really big once we put on the refrigerator, but it fit beautifully into the envelopes that we also used.  Our parents have received a lot of complimentary phone calls.

cringe! i made them in illustrator as opposed to photoshop on purpose so they would be crisper! i definitely don’t want to do it in PS and lose the clean vectors.

@Miss. Meeps: when i do save as… and choose pdf, it gives a bunch of options and i check the optimize box.

Oh no. I was just saying that when vistaprint tells you something is only “acceptable” that there’s a very good chance that when it’s printed it will not come out the way you want.  I ended up not doing save the dates because I got pregnant and we moved our date up.  I’m extremly happy with the invitations I ordered through them.
