Just a quick warning about a change in policy by UPS that may result in your wedding gifts being shipped back to the sender. As of 4/27, UPS no longer holds packages shipped via ground delivery after the third delivery attempt. We just got back from our wedding to discover that gifts sent to my apartment had been shipped back to the stores. We had no idea who had sent them, had no order info, etc. I had to speak with a supervisor at UPS to get the original tracking numbers, then contact the company (BB&B in this case) and they had to track things down and re-ship. According to the supervisor that I spoke with at UPS, if you’re going to be out of town for your honeymoon or for your wedding, the only thing you can do to avoid packages being returned is to call UPS while you’re gone to check to see if any delivery attempts have been made and make alternate arrangements. She said that you might be told this can’t be done, but if you ask for a supervisor they can take care of it. It was a headache to deal with today, so I thought I’d pass on the info to you all.
