- Wedding: July 2011
Today was supposed to be our negative one year anniversary. However, last night, I found out that my FI’s med school has added a clinical component to their program this year, which means he will now be in school until 7/29 (in Ireland no less) and therefore we can no longer have our wedding on 7/30.
We painstakingly picked out our date to make sure it didn’t overlap with the many festivals that are held in our downtown area (that would make it hard for hotels, parking, etc). We’ve booked our ceremony site, reception site, officiant, coordinator and band. I realize we still have a year out (more than that now, because we’ll probably have to move to mid-August). But I now have to go back to the drawing board and much of the work that has gone into this is wasted (not to mention lost deposits, etc).
I’m so angry. I’m already an emotional wreck because my Fiance will be apart for the next year while he is in med school in Ireland (leaving in 3 weeks). Plus, my boss just quit and I’ve had to take on all of his responsibilities at work. This put me over the edge. Unfortunately, I snapped and took it all out on my Fiance last night and now we are barely talking.
Am I OK to be upset about this? Has anyone else had go to back and re-tool everything because of a date issue?
Thanks for listening!
