Have you tried the internet? Places like http://www.netbride.com and other online salons will probably ship to Singapore, and once you have a dress you can take it to a seamstress where you are and get it altered to fit. You can also get dresses on eBay for very low prices.

Good luck!

If places like netbride, ebay, etc. won’t ship to Singapore, do you have any friends/family in the US who could receive packages for you and then re-ship to you in Singapore?  I think you’ll have great luck if you embrace the internet world of wedding gowns!

Check out Miss Tulip’s  informative post(s) on gown shopping online, and don’t underestimate retailers like J Crew and Ann Taylor, who have their own line of bridal gowns.

Here are a few more online resources:

Of course, check reviews and the Better Business Bureau before doing any business with an online retailer…. be safe about it!

Good luck!!!

i heard on the radio about a month ago that walmart, target, sams club and costco i believe are all starting to do wedding items to help those in budget crisis. i havent looked at all the sites, but i have looked at target.com. they do have wedding dresses there, nothing completley fancy, but not ugly. and they are relatively cheap….$200at most. so check it out, it might help. good luck with everything!

There has to be someone in Singapore who can make you a dress within your budget!  Ask around to your Vendors or Hotel Concierges for reccomendations.

I just did a google search for Singapore wedding dresses, and it does appear that it is either couture or wedding package there… but I also found that seamstresses who would be willing to custom make your wedding dress.  I think you could get a couture style gown at a significantly cheaper price if you went that route, and you could try it on to get a custom fit.

I hope you find a solution that works for you.  Please let us know what you decide!
