LOVE AIW! I second the ideas for bright flowers & tea cups- what about some way to incorporate little “Eat Me”/ “Drink Me” tags with your setting or favors? Are you having a seperate cake? I don’t know how big your wedding is or if it would be a pain, but you could dress the chairs up cute too, like the pics below. Also- maybe do something w/ black & white/playing cards mixed in with the bright colors… I would also do a search on the bee- there are lots of past and soon to be brides looking for ideas on this theme- good luck!

I’ve LOVE to give you ideas but can you give us some more details on what you already have? Do you have linens? Are you doing a sit down or buffett for food? And are you doing place settings?

What do your chairs look like? Do you have sashes, covers, etc?

These things will really help us work with what you’ve got!

Also, is your venue indoor or out? pictures?

AWESOME!!

Well, I’d go with as much color as possible since that brings in the whimsical feel that I think you’re going for. The bright blues that you’ve choosen should be really nice and scream ALICE!

I second the suggestions for using playing cards and trying to pick up some of the queen elements since I think they’re very recognizable.

Ribbons work so well as chair decor and its CHEAP! I love the tissue flowers everyone has suggested and I’ve found those martha stewart instructions really easy to follow You could do tissue flowers and ribbons. This would be really easy to incorporate all your colors.

I also love the idea of using teacups on your tables. What about as vases?

Again, tissue flowers would be budget friendly but also carnations are really full and pretty and cheap!

I keep thinking these carnations would look awesome packed together.

Or you could do this!

OK, I’ll keep looking for ideas since I don’t really feel like doing real work today ๐Ÿ™‚

I was originally going to do an Alice themed wedding, too! Here were some ideas we were going with…

1 – Teacups and teapots filled with mismatched tissue paper flowers of every color imaginable

2 – Decks of cards on the tables (and playing cards used as escort cards)

3 – Pocketwatches as presents for all the male attendants and parents

4 – “Eat me” and “Drink me” flags on picks in all our finger foods, cocktails, and cupcakes

5 – (if you have an adventurous crowd) Arrange all the tables into one or two big tables and periodically make people move to different seats ala Musical Chairs (like they did in the movie)

6 – Mismatched floral bed sheets and tablecloths, tables of different shapes and heights (square, round, rectangular, cocktail) and different chairs and stools

7 – A DIY photobooth with crazy hats for guests to wear for photos

8 – Our dress code was “fun and fancy” with hats as a requirement

9 – I was going to wear a mini tophat with a birdcage veil

10 – Serving Red and White table wine with custom labels named “Queen of Heart’s Red Wine” and “White Queen’s White Wine” or something like that

11 – Giant chessboard with chess pieces for our non-dancing guests to play with

12 – Croquet, of course!

13 – Flamingos and mirrors and clocks and stacks of books wherever possible

12 – One of those Mad Hatter topsy turvy cakes, naturally!

… hope that helps!

Make it colorful.  Whimsical tablecloths, teacups, hats for the groom and his men would be great.
