Having no concept of what veil would work for me either, I used the expertise of the dress shop.  Could you either find your dress or a similar style in a local shop and try different veils with it?  It definitely helps having an idea of what the whole thing looks like!

If I had to guess…a good veil for this dress is probably chapel length?  You don’t want it to end in the middle of the beading or the tucks and a short one might just be distracting.  That’s all totally a guess though 🙂  good luck!

I’m not sure if you want to go this route but I always tell friends and family how easy it is to make your own veil!  I know, sounds super tedious but it’s actually simple.  So simple that my friend’s husband made her one to wear at their wedding. It came out gorgeous.  All you need is tulle, hair clip and dental floss (yes, holds better than regular thread!)  You can find instructions online and there are several of them.  🙂

Best of luck on your best day!  Happy for you!

Pack up the dress (if you have it) or go to a shop that has one, pop into it and go through EVERYTHING they have. I’m going to be doing this at the end of the month, hauling the dress to the shop….all my maids will be there ordering their dresses, so it will work out because I will have a lot of input.

It’s the only way to really know what will look good with your particular dress.

Good luck hun!

I have a gown similar to yours, just fewer embellishments on the bodice and went with a veil like this: http://davidsbridal.com/accessory_detail.jsp?stid=2461&prodgroup=140′ defer=’defer

It’s got some beading around the edges that looks wonderful…

If you’d like something less cluttered, something like this http://davidsbridal.com/accessory_detail.jsp?stid=1127&prodgroup=140′ defer=’defer might work better since there’s still a nice acccent, but it’s not as much…

I always think a simple fingertip length veil works with most ballgowns. You can get it with a beaded edge, to set off the beading in your gown. I got my veil from http://www.occanseydesigns.com, and it was fast, cheap, and good quality. I think it arrived in about a week, so you can definitely get yours in time for your wedding. They have good pictures of all their veils online so you can get an idea of what they look like.
