@Jamergurl921:  not to the point that it bleeds but i have had bad ones… I have a medication from my home country that is great ut it is not allowed here in the US! every time someone comes to visit I ask them to bring me some just in case. Have you tried those concentrated cranberry meds? Like this

I’ve passed blood clots before. It seriously sucks. Are there any 24 hour urgent care clinics in your area? If there are I suggest going to one. Get in to the doctor as soon as possible and get on an antibiotic. The only thing I could do besides that to help was to chug cranberry juice and try to hold it as long as possible so the pH change could take effect.

I would go to a doctor stat. It could be that your simple UTI has turned into a kidney or bladder infection.

You need to probably go to the hosopital! If you’re getting chills or having lower back pain it couldy possibly mean the infection has spread to your kidney. Hope you feel better!

GO to the urgent care or Er … It’s way after hours for a dr. to deal with this.  I had a UTI that bad and i really hope you get some pain meds too.

On a side note, maybe talk to your Dr. about why you keep getting them?

I’m so sorry, I’m sure it’s very painful and kinda scary to pass blood. I would definitely try to reach the on-call physician at your PCP/urologist’s office to describe your symptoms and see if they think you need to be seen right away or if you get come in first thing tomorrow morning. If you are consistently getting UTIs I would also check with your doctor to see if it makes sense for you to be on a low dose antibiotic all the time to avoid getting these really bad infections.

Get to the Dr. – This just happened to me 2 weeks ago – it is scary I know but go to Urgent Care or if you have real good insurance then get to the ER. They will give you some antibiotics right away and will just do a urine culture and may do a blood draw to check your kidney function. Have you tried “Cystex” – takes away the feeling that you have to pee RIGHT NOW…  it is at Walmart/Target and works great. It is a probiotic and doesn’t turn your urine orange/red. Keeps your urine the same color so you don’t stain your clothes and costs about the same as AZO. But if you can’t even type a sentence or two – get to the ER. Esp. if you have temp, fever, chills, body aches, any blood in urine is scary. I am prone to UTI’s (get about 3-5 a year) sucks really bad. Hope your feeling better soon. Last time, even with medicine it took 2 hours for my symptoms to get even a little better – the longer it goes the worse it gets.

I have also been taking 2 cranberry pills every single day since then, Dr. said I may have to take them for the rest of my life to prevent this from occurring again. The cranberry supplements are around $10 for 150 little capsules, so far it is helping. Was on a double dose of antibiotics (double the normal strength) because of the infection it was causing.

I’m glad your feeling better but just be careful. If you get worse you might have to go to the ER. Hope your Dr calls you back soon! Oh and do you have 100% cranberry juice? It’ll help trust me I get UTI’s all the time.

@Jamergurl921:  Keep jugging the water and cranberry juice until you get a prescription for antibiotics. I used to get UTIs about once every 3 months. It was horrible. I hope you feel better soon. Also try putting a hot compress on your stomach. It helped to alleviate the pain I was feeling.

I am the queen of uti’s (literally I have an emergency take-a-pill-if-I-feel-symptoms prescription that I carry in my purse) and I have never passed blood Clots. if you can’t go to the dr tonight I hope to god you can get through tonight without too much pain because they are absolutely excruciating sometimes. unfortunately I have no extra tips besides what you are doing. You could add in cranberry juice but it has to be 100% cranberry, actual juice has too much sugar.

@Jamergurl921:  I would go to the ER or urgent clinic if you could? If a UTI is bad enough, the bacteria can leach into your blood stream and cause urosepsis which is life-threatening. Especially go to ER if you are feeling like a fever is coming on! (I’m a training microbiologist at a hospital and I see bad UTI’s go on and cause the patient to become very ill)
