So I thought we had the honeymoon all figured out, then my Fiance admitted that he actually wasn’t thrilled with our honeymoon. Instead he said he wanted to go somewhere that we could relax more. So now I’m at a loss for ideas and was hoping some helpful bee’s could share some ideas.
Here’s the info:
Budget: Less then $2000 (including airfare)
Location: We have already taken anywhere outside of the US off the list because we don’t have passports (we don’t want to spend that much on them right now because that would take up a good chunk of the budget). We also want to get out of New England, since that’s the only area I have traveled in.
Length: We’d like at least 3 nights, would prefer 4 or 5 nights.
Airport: We’s be looking to fly out of Boston (could also fly out of CT, New Husband, VT, or possibly NY if it saved us a lot)
We aren’t looking for something fancy, as we understand that our budget doesn’t allow for much. Just looking for a place to relax and have a little fun.
Any advice on travel websites to check out would also be appreciated.

One place to start is to go to the travel sites and see what package deals they have out of Boston. http://www.travelocity.com/Vacations I just put in sample days around your wedding to Miami International here and there are some great deals for 5 days for flights and hotel totaling under $1K! that leaves you $1K for spending money.
Flights are almost super cheat to Orlando or Fort Lauderdale. You could fly to Fort Lauderdale or Maiami (near each other) and stay around there? Or rent a car and drive to Key West? To save money I would see what the price difference is for a room vs a room with a kitchenette so you can do most meals at the room. Food is a large expense.
Myrtle Beach is probably doable on that budget while relaxing.

Key West! Its warm, it relaxing and there is soo much to do down there and you don’t need a passport since its FL!
Check out travelocity, vacation outlet and kayak for info.
Flights down there are pretty cheap plus you can rent a car from MIA and drive down the rest of route 1 over the bridge (if you like that sort of thing).
Plus you can stay at a really nice hotel down there for your budget.

Have you ever considered Disney World in Florida? Most people don’t know this, but it’s an amazing place for couples! We’ve been together for the past 3 years, we got engaged there, and we’re honeymooning there. It can be done on a budget, for sure! PM me if you’d like more info! 🙂

I think I’ve heard Myrtle Beach is pretty inexpensive, but I don’t know.

Tripadvisor.com has great info from real travelers and I also used Cruisecritic.com when planning our last vacation. We really enjoyed our cruise experience and are considering cruising for our honeymoon. We were able to see multiple locations with only 2 round trip plane tickets and the same room the entire trip.

Key West is a great place for HoneyMoons, I saw lots of couples there.
Hell anywhere in FL would be good, Orlando, Palm Beach, Miami etc…
Las Vegas would also be a fun cheap vacation.
California has a lot of Romantic places too.

Thanks for the ideas so far.
I did try to do some research first before asking for advice. I spent hours on Expedia, Travelocity, & Priceline last night and did get two ideas but the Fiance wanted more. I was able to find a trip to Kauai HI for $1500 + food and lots of ideas for Vegas.
FL is out because Fiance has been there many times and has no desire to go there again outside of Disney. I looked into going to Disney but it was going to cost so much for only 3 days, so we decided we’d rather do Disney sometime in the distant future.
Oh and I forgot to mention rental cars are out because we will both be 24, so we really need a destination that has public transportation or is walking distance to things.

The Outer Banks in NC are gorgeous and you can get a rental house or condo for pretty cheap using one of the rental websites out there. But I’m partial to NC after living there for 2 years 😉

@peaches1038: Oh thanks, I didn’t know you could. Everyone told me you had to be 25, so thanks for the info.

I think you should come to Charleston, SC. It is a beautiful honeymoon location. I live here though, so I’m partial.
So I went to Expieda and this is what I found:
Sunday 15th May – Thursday 19th May
Hotel: (Amazing hotel that is in a prime location!)
Just a thought! 😀 You could probably find it cheeper on other sites too!
ETA: You probably wouldn’t need the car! Charleston is all walkable with safe public transportation on the trolleys. 🙂
