That ref was terrible.

That’s all I have to say about that.

Actually, no, I can say more. That ref cost Canada the game.  It wasn’t right.

The decision to give a free kick that was immediately followed by the penalty shot call.  It kept the US in the game and was very questionable by the ref.  Neither of those were decisions that should have been made and the fact that she made them back to back is ridiculous.  I’m sure there’s going to be a review and it will be a while before this ref has a high profile game again.

The delay call was iffy but the handball could’ve been avoided if the Canadian girl would’ve kept her elbow in. The calls went both ways though cause Tancredi should’ve been red carded and there were quite a few dives.

The handball call shouldn’t have happened anyway.  It’s ball to hand not hand to ball.  It makes a difference.  Not to mention the same thing happened in the US end about ten minutes before that and it wasn’t called.

Definitely uneven referring.

I see hand balls called like that all the time. If she would have kept her elbow in and essentially made it apart of her body, it wouldn’t have been called. But I don’t know how some one can complain of poor reffing in favor of the US when Tancredi stayed in the whole game. I mean stomping on another players head? True sportsmanship. Calls were missed going both ways.
