You could have his resize for him.  yours you could have it shave down so it’s thiner and resize.  it’s very lovely.  This is only if you want to use it.  Will be way cheaper .

My Fiance inherited a wedding band from his deceased father. It’s not his style so we are having it melted down into a plain band and engraving something sentimental inside to honour him on our wedding day. Maybe consider altering the rings to suit you. It’s a bit more expensive than resizing but its still cheaper than buying new.

littlepinkring:  I think it’s important that you love your band, so maybe keep these in a safe place for another time and go shoping to get one that you love with your ering.

They are beautiful!

Size it down and try again 🙂 You can ask to shave down two sttipes of gold – one from each side of the ring – to make it thinner. But honestly I think that they are matching pretty good even now

Save the money by repurposing the gold and have it melted down and turned into something you love.

I think it’s very lovely! I understand where you’re coming from… I was given my mother in law’s wedding rings after she passed away (I had lost my original set). She was an amazing woman, I love her and it was a beautiful gesture by my husband’s family. I had them resized so I could wear them, but I do struggle with it sometimes. One is a thin small solitaire which looks a lot like my original and I love, and the band is plain gold and about 4-5 mm wide. The band took some getting used to. Personally I love thin dainty wedding bands, and the wider one was a little different. The more I wear it, though, the more I love it. But I do get that it’s really important to love your wedding band…you’ll be wearing it for the rest of your life! Like other bees have said maybe have it resized and then try it out…and if it’s still not for you, I would say definitely keep them and maybe buy a band that you really enjoy wearing.

I would have them melted down and made into a thin band for you and a wider band for him. I understand your concerns about the width and design, but no sense in wasting gold.

littlepinkring:  they are lovely bands I think you should use them. As for the widness you can see a working jeweeler to get one side shaved down and a cut out in it for your ering.
