    Yes, I would be mortified.

I wouldn’t have a problem with it. If I could get a nice, high quality diamond at a fraction of the cost…why not? As for the bad juju…that’s why the priest/preacher blesses the rings before you exchange them.

Just like to point out that most of you prolly have no idea if your diamond has been “used” before (you can’t even rely on just a GIA cert date – Fiance had mine cert-ed when he bought it).  There are lots of threads on the boards about trading in/up – well, once you give it back, the jeweler doesn’t just throw it away=)

As others have said, as long as he didn’t propose to someone else with it I’m totally fine with a “used” ring.

Hmm…tough. If he put time and thought into and it was like an estate/vintage piece, then I wouldn’t mind. But if he bought it only because it was cheap/convenient, then I might not be so happy. To me an engagement purchase should involve a lot more thought and research than just buying something off craigslist.

Well honestly, I wouldnt take a ring that was used. I KNOW! people are gonna be like “you douche” but its just my feelings.  Stones absorb energies as well as give off energies(i sound like a whack job to most of you) I dont care if my ring is diamond, emerald, pearl…just as long as its MINE. it doesnt have to cost 10k, mine was only $250 from ebay. Used rings sound like a good deal, but you have to think about the baggage. Seriously, if you are looking for something cheap check out ebay. they will tell you if its used or not. i  got mine and its def. not used. no scratches, marks, blemishes…nothing. Just my beliefs….

It wouldnt bother me.  Id honestly rather have a new ring, but I know some of the rings on there werent even given to the fiancee so technically it was new.  Id just be wary of the quality and making sure people are telling the truth.
