PizzaBride : I am pretty superstitious, chracter flaw of mine and I really wish I wasn’t. Superstitious about everything so when i was getting married I didn’t even want a used wedding dress. That being said a 1.5 carat ring seems like it might be more than just $6,000 unless the quality isn’t that great. I think I’d rather keep that and take out a loan for the $3,000.00 since you will be reimbursed in a few months and will only have to pay very small interest if paid in full quickly 🙂

If you have any kind of online classified ad site (kijiji is something I use but I don’t know if it exists everywhere) you may have better luck than FB! I think people like to see stuff in person though, especially big purchase stuff they are purchasing used, and jewellery bought from an individual vs. a jeweller I would want to meet up in person to see the documents and such before making my purchase, but that is just me 🙂 Good luck selling!

I don’t know what the fee, or perfecntage they keep, is but I’ve heard good things about “Never Liked it Anyway” (http://www.neverlikeditanyway.com/) for people looking to sell wedding items.

duchessgummybunns : Wow you found my exact same setting! But yes I think because this is a GIA cert, “triple brilliant?” diamond it seems to be worth more.
All, thank you so much for your input and suggestions. I’ve definitely got a lot of homework and consideration to put into this ring to ensure I make the right decisions. As always, the Bee has proved to have a helpful and kind community!

Your ring is beautiful and someone will love it and value it, just likely not a superstitious person. My ring can be thought of as an heirloom…or it can be acknowledged as passed down from my future MIL’s disastrous marriage to FI’s father. She hated the ring from the moment she received it, and was only too happy never to see it again. On the other hand, I love the ring and catch myself admiring my finger several times per day. When I look at it, all I think about is joy.
