One of my friends fell in love with a ring on Craigslist that was a fraction of the retail Value. She loves here ring and has no regrets!

@strawbs:  To me a used ring and used clothes are the same which I don’t like either. Cars and houses are way different. That’s just my opinion.

@limegreenbride:  yes I know. I believe it’s only because of size.

@strawbs:  No not really i just think an e ring is really personal and I wouldn’t want one that’s been given to someone else first.

I wouldn’t care as long as Fiance picked it out with you in mind.  The only time I would care is if Fiance bought the ring for someone else, but it didn’t work out and then decided to give it to you instead.

i am currently considering a heirloom ring as an option of my e-ring. i am torn between a beautiful diamond that’s been in the family for ages and a brand new gemstone ring which is also a freaking beauty and it’s gonna be only mine. i guess i will leave the choice to my SO.

If he found a great ring that matches my specs (to match my dream wedding band) a 2ct round brilliant, white stone, preferably lab created (I’m a perfectionist), in an 18K rose gold tiffany setting, in a size 4.5……

Then hell yes!

You could call my heirloom ring used if you wanted, it is from my grandparents who had a terrible marriage even though they were married until they both died. I prefer to see it as a chance to carry something of them with us, while giving the ring a chance to symbolize something wonderful and happy. Also, I thought it wouldn’t feel like mine but after 5 months I almost always forget that it used to not be mine.

I don’t mind and told SO that but he said no way. I guess he doesn’t like the idea but whatever lol. Go for it! If your dream ring new is 3000 and a ‘used’ ring is 800 WOW.

@memo:  I actually told my SO to buy a used ring. I pointed him to IdonowIdont.com A lot of “new” rings at the jewlery stores are old stones that have been re-cut. He said if I find a ring my size that I love on the site send it to him. I saw a 7,000 ring that I saw in a store for 2,500! What a deal!

I figure as long as the prior owner’s finger isn’t still in it, it is ALLLL good!
