@chuci24:  I LOVE THIS!!!!!! they are going to be SOOOO HAPPY and thrilled with this! it does look set slightly high but looking down on it i dont notice or think i looks weird. my diamond is set above my halo a little and it doesnt bother me. i think it’s good to go but you could ask if they can lower it… i personally wouldnt care about reading the GIA engraving and if you ever need to resell or upgrade they could take it out of the setting so i dont think that should be a priority 🙂 here’s my ring for reference

I don’t think it is too high. My only quibble is that the prongs seem kind of big to me – like they shouldn’t cover the top of the stone that much. That could be adjusted now or later I think. Otherwise you did a fabulous job and the ring is absolutely stunning! Whatever you decide, you must come back and update us about how much they love it!

@katebluestone:  I agree with this. Double claw prongs are elegant when done correctly. Because there are two per corner, you can go with smaller prongs and the stone will still be secure. If it were my ring, I’d like the prongs to be more understated and delicate so they are complementary to the design rather than covering so much of the stone. The side view is mostly prongs right now.

Wow that’s a beautiful ring! She’s a lucky girl! I agree that I would prefer a single prong. I really don’t think it’s needed to keep the diamond in and it makes the ring look a bit thick and heavy. I also think maybe the diamond could be set a little more into the halo.

Looks great! The double prong element is awesome, though I agree that they could be a bit more delicate looking/shorter. If the jeweler comes back and says the stone won’t be more secure if they’re made more delicate, I wouldn’t worry too much or change anything. Although zoomed in close in these high definition pictures you really notice prongs generally, irl with all the sparkle it will be less in your face. (And this advice is from someone who is really into her e-ring prongs, lol)

@chuci24:  the ring is stunning! I agree, I would drop it slightly. I have a halo and my diamond is set too high and I just absolutely hate it to be honest. I thought I’d get over it but I’m now designing a different setting that isn’t a halo because of this.

I would also definitely make the prongs more delicate. With that many prongs, they don’t need to be that big at all, It will not compromise the integrity.

She is going to absolutely love it! Well done on the design 🙂

@chuci24:  First of all that ring is absolutely gorgeous right now. I can’t wait to hear an update with a photo of it on your fiancée’s finger!

To be picky: the jeweller promised the bezel will be level with the tables of the halo stones… and it’s not level. Not at all level and that would bother me. Who cares if you can read the engraving or not? Also, I can’t tell from those photos but it looks like the bottom right prongs are slightly uneven?

That’s my main complaint but even if it’s not fixed the ring is still beautiful.
