I’m a sucker for good deals, and I’ve been seeing a decent amount of vacations on Groupon. I feel like there has to be a catch though…
So is there? How’d your trip turn out?
I have NO idea what we’re going to do for our honeymoon. Our wedding will be a few days before Christmas, so we might wait till after Christmas and go on a Mini-moon and then wait till next summer for a full honeymoon.
I’m just trying to get ideas for now 🙂

I’m hopping in because we are considering this too

We just did a two-day trip at a bed and breakfast, but it turned out really well! Some of the ‘perks’ they added turned out to be free anyway, but we still saved a good amount of money doing it.

We have been looking for a Groupon to use for our post-cruise lodging in Puerto Rico. I have never used a Groupon for travel… but have used them for a TON of other things. I can tell you that they are an extremely easy company to work with and have a ton of great policies…

@jo.lee: Yeah I think that it might be good for us to do a small getaway closeby.. i’m glad yours turned out well!
@csperry2: Yeah I’ve used Groupons for other things and they’ve turned out well. But I’m a little concerned about spending a nice chunk of change..

We got a Living Social (another company like Groupon) voucher for a bed and breakfast and it was really nice. We didn’t have any problems with booking or redeeming the voucher.
Now we’re trying to plan a honeymoon for our anniversary and looking for a good Groupon vacation deal. I think it’s totally fine as long as you read the fine print. Beware of blackout dates, resort fees, and service charges. Some of their deals have a lot of fees and restrictions, but some are genuinely good deals. Do your homework first and find out exactly what you’d get with the Groupon and what other charges to expect. Also, check the “real” booking cost of the resort, sometimes it’s a lot less than what Groupon reports.
