I can’t speak of the experience of using them, but I put out a general inquiry for a band in September of 2009 and I have received a call from a Las Vegas band with a 702 number who never leaves a message multiple times a week for months.  I don’t even want to talk to them since it’s so weird that they keep calling.

Another bee booked a band that we are looking at through them. They are happy so far, but they are prewedding. I contacted the band through gigmasters and they gave me a very reasonable quote. We are going to listen to them this weekend.

I’ve reserved a violinist for the ceremony through gigmasters. We are going to meet with her in June to hear her play. She had samples on her website, but overall I’m satisfied with their process so far.

I booked my string quartet through Gigmasters, was a very smooth process.

Do you recommend booking straight through the band instead of gigmasters to avoid the gigmasters fee? How large is the gigmasters fee? help! thanks!

The site was good for getting me in touch with some local Djs, but I got a lot of follow-up form email from one DJ that was funneled through gigmasters. It got to the point I had to tell them to stop emailing me. But I do think this was the particular performer and not the site.

The other issue I ran into was the search results kept giving me DJs that were well out of my travel range.

I did end up finding a good match for our needs.
