@raisedonrobbery:  SWEAR!?! I am going to try this. I don’t have many zits but when I do they are huge and red!

@raisedonrobbery:  never heard of this before! Please update the thread if it continues to work. I’m breaking out really bad these past few months. I actually have some of that in my bathroom somewhere! Do you wash your face with anything else?

I’ve never heard of this before either. I’m a bit apprehensive to try scalp products on my face but what your saying makes some sense (after a quick google search). My concern would be that it throws off the skin’s balance (like other heavy duty exfoliators).

FIY I’ve been struggling with stress-induced cystic acne for a little over a year (law school was a bad plan). Recently, I started exfoliating with a mix of castor & olive oil and it’s worked wonders on my skin so far (2 months). It may not sound intuitive to use oil to get rid of zits but it’s a gentle way of maintaining balanced skin.

@raisedonrobbery:  Interesting. Whatever works! Just hopefully it won’t be too drying.. that can make acne worse overall.

Sulphates aren’t really bad for skin. There’s a lot of fear mongering out there about it and it’s a huge debate. Some still say it causes cancer but that’s BS too… unless you bathe in large quantities of the pure version of it.

Wow.  That’s really weird because using head and shoulders makes my Darling Husband break out REALLY badly.

@KateByDesign:  My doctor said that sometimes anti-bacterials can actually disturb your natural flora and make things worse.

If I don’t have any zits and I wash my face regularly, it will make me break out.  I can only wash targeted zits or it makes the whole problem worse.
