I was oringally planning a November 2011 wedding with colors being black and red. As part of her wedding gift my gma bought me the real touch flowers from Hobby Lobby (all red). Now I am planning a late May elopement and stuck with my red flowers. I don’t want to hurt her by not using them. I’m plus size and need a larger bouquet and even with the 50% off flowers at Hobby Lobby it’d be $50 min. I checked out walmart but all their flowers are dying or missing petals and I really like real touch flowers b/c they last forever and I don’t need to dry them or worry about brusing it or it staining my dress. And their silk flowers can’t be passed of as “real”(at least with my abilities). So any thoughts another wedding color I could add..? Thanks In Advance
Added picture of bouquet..I was just playing around with ribbon color. I don’t know how to resize sorry!!

@ItsAmandaYall: I think red and aqua look kinda springy..

Hi!!! My friend’s wedding I’m in in few weeks is red. There were a few directions the colors went in.
First, we were going to do them with dusty miller.
Then we looked at light lime or light aqua (hydrangeas).
Then red and pinks.
We have red dresses so she ended up going with just white bouquets with the white roses with red tips.

I’m doing red and teal for August. (With a touch of dark pink in the flowers.) I think red can work for any season.

I think you can still use your red flowers. Red and aqua are a bright , spring like combination
Look on http://www.theperfectpalette.com
Click on red on the right side and see many different palettes using red.

I’m using red and Tiffany Blue exactly like the poster below you posted in that inspiration board. I’m also planning to add a couple of more Springish colors for accents.

@ItsAmandaYall: I love your color combination and I think it would work fine for Spring. Red doesn’t have to be just fall or winter if paired with fun colors.

I personally think red is a color that can be used year around. It is the color we most associate with “Love”. As for other colors, truly the limit to all the different colors, textures and blossom types is limited only to your imagination.
I think the pictures you have of your bouquets are beautiful. I would never have guessed they were silk flowers.
I’m in Oregon so I already have red tulips blooming, my roses are starting to bud (most of them are various shades of red) and red Manmouth mums . So I think red is a spring color.

I’m doing red and black/white damask for a June 9 wedding. Including black tableclothes….I didn’t pick when my wedding is, and I have no concerns about keeping the look that I wanted even if it isn’t spring/summery. Most of the decor is in the reception venue anyway and there are no windows! Perfect! 🙂

Red and aqua immediately popped into my mind as well, but I could also see a red and lavender or red and pale yellow looking awesome for spring. And just to make you feel better, I had a red green and silver wedding in July and it looked perfectly summery!
