I saved the petals from the first roses Fiance ever got me…and I’m thinking about having our flower girls scatter these. i don’t even think Fiance remembers that I have them and he’s a sentimental guy so I think he would love knowing those would be in our wedding. I’m wondering if I’ll regret not having these later…but honestly what would I do with them other than keep them in the closet. I might save some and mix some fake petals of a different color so the girls are tossing a mix.
If it matters, I get flowers from him every couple of months, not always roses but I’ve gotten those 2-3 times from him. The only other people who would even know unless it was in the program or something (or in a “fun facts” thing at the reception) would be the bridesmaids and our moms probably…

I think the idea is sweet. I don’t think it is some life changing, fireworks moment for the wedding but it will make you and your Fiance smile so I think it would be fun!

If you consider them special why would you want them thrown on the ground and then walked on by guests as they leave the ceremony?

I agree that it is a sweet idea. I am using the rose petals that my Fiance used when he proposed. Maybe it would be a good idea to make sure that you get a few pics of them….in the basket, on the aisle, etc. and maybe keep just a few for the sentiment.

I think it’s an awesome idea, but I would be hesitant to use all them. I would go with mixing them with some different petals so that you still have some for yourself 🙂

I’d try mixing them with some fresh ones, that way you still have some left over. I wouldn’t want to lose all of mine, particularly from a first bouquet!

I think its cute, but will anyone else know why the girls are throwing old dried petals rather than fresh? Maybe use the same color petals as the roses he bought you. Or just use some of them and make sure to keep some of the petals for yourself so you wont regret not having any.
