I’m making mason jar lanterns and was thinking about using sugar instead of white sand, but I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if the sugar started to melt? So then I was thinking of maybe trying salt.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
I may just try it in the end and see what happens.

My friend did this, and the sugar did start to melt, and she had a bit of trouble getting it out of the jar (like you, she also got married in August). But it really wasn’t that big of a deal; she had to tap the jar a few times for the sugar to come out, and everyone had a good laugh. It just added to the fun personality of her wedding. 🙂

Could you do a trial run? Try making one jar with brown sugar, one with white sugar, and one with salt? Then you could see which works best?
