I really like some of the dance games, fun and I feel like they contribute to my dance skills which are a bit lacking LOL. I have the black eyes peas experience for kinect, not sure if they have it for wii? but its pretty awesome.

@amazinglysimple:  What does zumba on wii require? Do you need a workout pad, or can you  just use the hand held gizmo that comes with the unit?

@amazinglysimple:  I’m only trying to lose like 5-7 lbs, but Wii Fit is great for me because it’s a fun workout that I actually enjoy doing. A lot of people say you need to do more for serious weight loss, but Wii Fit is a good start to getting you moving.  I’ve lost 2.5 lbs in 3 weeks using Wii Fit 3x per week and counting calories.

I heard Wii Active is really awesome for weight loss, too.

@amazinglysimple:  I Have EA Active for the Wii.  It is awesome but I have a hard time sticking with the 30 day workout. 🙁  Hip pain & running/jumping dont go along so well.  I do love the boxing parts though, its great for the arms.

Public Service Announcement: STRETCH before you do any of the boxing or baseball games. Ouch.

Unless of course, you already use your arms and have good muscle tone there. I don’t and the first time I played/worked out using the boxing and baseball, I was in agony for at least 2 days afterwards! After that I started making sure to stretch and warm up if I wanted to do either of those ones.

@amazinglysimple:  I haven’t tried Wii Active, sorry!  Wii Fit is working so well for me and the important thing is that it’s fun and actually makes me want to work out.  I think (for me at least) it’s more important that I keep working out, even if it’s less rigorous.  But I have to say, that advanced hula hoop for 10 minutes or the island lap definitely get my heart rate up just fine! 🙂

I’m using the Wii fit and keep track of my weight that way too, though I try not to take it personally when it makes that ‘whah-whah’ noise when I weigh myself!

I bought Just Dance for the Wii recently too and all you need is the motion plus controller… and tightly drawn curtains.  It’s a lot of fun but you might never recover from someone seeing you dancing to ‘You Can’t Touch This’.

I also got a Rosemary Connelly dvd which does the job and was very cheap but is a bit boring.
