I agree- I actually found a job, but I feel like I am overworked and my grades are slipping. I am going into my 5th year too.

yeah,  I hear you…could you find a job on campus?  maybe look for research opportunities with a professor?  Thankfully, I have a job on campus, pretty easy one in fact and make enough to pay for my living expenses but I dread the day I graduate and have to work for real.  How about looking into being a part time teller at a bank?

Have you looked into being a part time nanny? That’s what I do, and it’s great flexibility. I mostly just do school online but there are so many jobs that only need afterschool nannies, or a MTF or T-Th. They usually pay starting at $10/hour which isn’t that bad for a college student. It may not be the best paycheck in the world, but it’s a fun job!

If you decide to do that, care.com and nannies4hire.com are great sites to use! I’ve found jobs through both of them!

I’m about to be in my 5th year.. I worked up until the last semester of my 4th year, but all of a sudden am feeling a lot of pressure to find a REAL job. Which I would love to have, but I am pretty sure that an actual good job will be hard to find in my area (metro Detroit is not so hot right now), plus I want to just get my teaching certification and get it over with. I’m aiming for substitute teaching but obviously that’s not very “stable”. I feel your stress!

I know how you feel!  I am a college graduate who is getting a MBA and I haven’t been able to find a job since July!  I had an interview today so fingers crossed!
