Sometimes the computer auto-updates to ridiculous itineraries.  I had a flight change once to give me a 5 minute layover (which is obviously impossible to make) and when I called the airline it turned out that the flight I originally booked just changed numbers and the computer defaulted to the new impossible itinerary.  they put me back on my original flight without hassle,  I would just call and talk to someone.

Also I am beyond jealous you’re going to new zealand,  I have been trying to talk my husband into it for a year now but the flight is a hard sell 🙂

I agree, I would call and try to talk to someone about that, did you book this through a travel agency? Do you have travelers insurance? I’m just thinking maybe you could get some money back from that with your hotel stay

You need to call and tell them “trust me, this IS a problem”. I’m hoping if you explain (calmly) to the agent that this trip is your honeymoon, they will try and put you on better fights.

Call the airline. My best guess is that they are no longer operating one of the segments in your journey and thus rerouted you accordingly. However, this is an unreasonable change and I think you should be able to remedy the situation over the phone. If you have travel insurance, I would use that if the agent can’t reroute you on the phone. If not, I would call several times until you can get this straightened out. good luck!

@chellology: I have my fingers crossed that you do get money back.  Glad Air New Zealand is going smoother! And how cool of a honeymoon is NZ!?! I’d love to go to NZ someday. 🙂
