…now I have a wedding to plan!
Good morning ladies! It’s so great to be home, I really missed checking in on this board to see how you were all doing. Looks like we have a few more “graduates”… including me! DBF (or should I make that FI) proposed on the 14th right after the fire works at the Magic Kingdom at WDW. In front of the castle and all! Stupid me forgot to get pictures due to the crowds and the fact that I was crying like a lunatic and covered in sweat!
We’re both huge Disney dorks so we wanted to make sure to see the last night of the special “Summernightastic” fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. It was a really great show and after it was over and the lights came back up, I leaned over and kissed Fiance and said “Thank you honey. This has been such a great trip!” He got this odd look on his face and my heart started beating faster. He said “I have a present for you.” I said “This trip IS my present! And my birthday isn’t till tomorrow.” Then he knelt down and pulled out a ring box. I totally lost it. He said “But I want to give it to you now. I love you, will you marry me?” I’m pretty sure I said yes but it’s a bit hazy.
My ring isn’t your typical e-ring but I love it! It’s a square cut amethyst in a halo setting on a rose gold band. It’s kind of vintage and heirloom style. It’s really me and I love that Fiance knew that! He says that I can pick out something for my “other” e-ring since I showed him a setting I adored right before we left on our trip – ooops! I don’t know if I will but I love that he offered. I knew we’d have a long engagement but that’s fine by me. I have nursing school to finish and I want to get a job before we’re married. So far we’re thinking about March 24, 2012 possibly down in Florida. Getting people to come to Chicago in March is a super tough sell! If they have to travel, I want them to be warm!
Thanks again for all the support and advice. This board has been a wonderful place to come vent. I’m going to stick around, even though I’ve “graduated”.
