I am! Sort of .. I do think it’s a little cliche to get engaged on or around the holidays (especially Christmas) because so many ppl I know did and I just don’t want to be in that group. I want my own special day! I don’t think my guy would do it on v day but probably before it after because my birthday is also next month, and he did confirm it’s happening next month! That’s all I know though .. I hope you get yours!

Just enjoy your trip and don’t stress about proposal!

My husband had told me flat out that he refused to propose during Valentines Day weekend. He ended up proposing the next weekend!

As another PP said… just have a blast on your trip!

Last year, DH and I had a very lowkey Valentine’s Day – and he proposed the next day to my surprise!

No. And we’re even going away for a romantic, sparkly, snowy ski trip that weekend, also–I work in government so it’s a 3-day weekend for President’s Day, woo!

Truth is, we’re not big Valentine’s Day people anyway (last year we got dressed up and then got Chinese takeout and wine and binge watched House of Cards–and it was awesome.) and I’m pretty sure he knows I wouldn’t want our engagement on such a cliche day. Though a mountain-top proposal in the sparkly snow would be fantastic, I think it’ll likely be a few months later.

Enjoy your trip and don’t stress about it–that’s what I plan on doing!

No not for me. I work in the restaurant industry, so I’ll be working all night. SO and I have never really celebrated valentines day though. I don’t think we’ve ever gone to dinner for it. We might pick up a little gift for the other, nothing big though. I’ve never really been a valentines day person. Our anniversary is the end of February though, which means a lot more to me personally than valentines day.

i’m kind of expecting one, i know i shouldn’t since i’m pretty sure my SO thinks that “holiday” proposals are too cliche…..BUT it would be an easy day to choose for him, i think he needs a “holiday” excuse to do a proposal, otherwise i think he’d drive himself crazy trying to pick a random day! plus it’s out 6 year anniversary then, and i think it would be sweet!

Valentines day is a very busy week in our relationship: my birthday is the 12th, Valentines the 14th and our 3 year anniversary the 19th. I don’t think he will do it on Valentines day, but I think it is coming sometime between now and then 🙂

Vday is a big deal to me so I would love it if he did but I doubt he will.  I kinda want our ‘own’ day though.

My SO promised me it won’t be in February because I was engaged twice before and they both proposed in February. Lol. He says he wants our engagement day to be it’s own day not shared with a holiday. At this point though I’d welcome it rather than waiting until after February. :/ Good luck ladies! 🙂

Nope. I wish, but he’s NEVER lifted a finger on VDay. He buys a box of chocolates from his store on his way home and hands them to me. I used to go more all-out than he did, but after a couple years of awkward imbalanced-gift conversations I’ve learned that it’s better for everyone involved that I don’t. And honestly, I don’t care even half as much about VDay as I used to (and even then, it never was that much.) I would have strongly preferred an Xmas proposal over a VDay one. Honestly, if he IS going to propose anytime soon, I see him waiting for my birthday (in July.) He mentioned wanting to do it on my birthday last year and never did.
