This will be our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple as well, but it will always be special to us since last year my Husband proposed on Valentine’s Day so it’s also the anniversary of our engagement. I am planning to take the day off of work to spend the day with my Husband since he is off on Valentine’s Day. I made reservations for us to go to a fancy restaurant. We might go out to a movie or to a museum beforehand.

I am excited to buy him a card that says Husband on it too! I am searching for some ideas though on something inexpensive to give him too.

It’s my birthday on Valentine’s Day, so I’ve grown to hate celebrating Valentine’s Day. in general. Though, I love the sweetheart candies quite a bit. We usually do a low key birthday celebration on Valentine’s Day and then a day later or the weekend, we’ll celebrate Valentine’s Day itself.

ugh the first two weeks of feb are going to be manic for us. Its my grans 70th birthday on the fourth, our dating anniversary on the 5th, then my husband AND his mothers birthday (her 50th no less) on the 13th,then valentines day!All big milestone birthdays too,so expensive for us!I dont know if we have plans really, but Darling Husband has got the week of valentines day off,and Im on break from college,so Ive told him we will go out for a meal on the 13th for birthday/valentines day celebrations,as were all going out at the weekend before for birthday party-ness lol. Were also getting ourselves an xbox 360 with kinnect this weekend as a present to us for valentines/anniversary.

Anyone know what to get for a 70th birthday and a 50th?Im stuck for present ideas for my nan and MIL?!!!

Valentine’s Day will also be our one month anniversary, so I’m excited about it.  We’ll probably go somewhere for a nice dinner.

My husband and I have plans to go to PF Changs on Valentine’s day, but I’m thinking about surprising him with a mini getaway to a hotel in a nearby town and then dinner, movie, etc. I thought about doing this for our first anniversary, but it just so happens I’ll be shooting a wedding the weekend of our first anniversary so it seems that Valentine’s day is the best time to do this!

We’re not big Valentine’s Day people (I can’t even remember what we did last year! Probably just exchanged cards). This year will be the second time (first was in 2010) that we’ll be away on a Caribbean vacation over Valentine’s Day. It kind of worked out perfectly the first time, because it removed us from all the North American pressure to do something special on Valentine’s Day and meant that we just got to spend the day together enjoying one another’s company. I’m excited that we’ll be away for it again this year!

@runsyellowlites:  Look for the CucinaPro Wireless Crepe maker. My hubby got one for me last Christmas and it makes THE best crepes. They run about $40, but it’s well worth it!

I never celebrated Valentine’s day until I met my husband. We sort of do it now. We were originally thinking of popping over to Istanbul either the weekend before or after. We’re just about to start a new project though, so that isn’t going to happen I don’t think. However, it’s not Valentines-y but my old roommate from grad school will be in town for a field visit and I am SO EXCITED! As far as I’m concerned, this is as close to having a visitor as it gets! (We live in Afghanistan, it’s very boring here so having someone new around for two weeks will be awesome!)

I am going to make my own husband valentines card – can’t wait! & we’ll probably just stay in with a home-cooked meal and a rented film 🙂

We usually go all out for Valentines, but to be honest- after getting married and going on our honeymoon so recently…I would love a simple romantic night in.

I’ll probably cook and extra special meal and we’ll watch a movie. 🙂

We usually stay in & cook a nice dinner. He’ll usually get me a card and my fave chocolates & call it a day. This being the first V-Day as a married couple, I’m also pretty excited about getting to pick him out a ‘husband’ card.

Probably not much because it’s the middle of the week and when it’s on the weekend, crowds are insane at restaurants.  Last year, when I was in school, a girl came into class in curlers on V day.  Ummm no.

Boo.  Same old, same old for us:  I’ll be in class, and he’ll be traveling for work.  Super exciting.  I think 2009 was the last time we got to spend Valentine’s Day together, and before that 2005.  lol.  Although we never really made a huge deal out of it, other than our first one (which we were both in high school for, so making a big deal out of it was the thing to do haha).  He has sent flowers a lot of those years where we were apart, though.  Maybe next year we’ll do something. =P

Our first Valetine’s as a married couple, we went to a 6 course that the restaurant in our wedding venue catered. It was near our 6 month anniversary, so it was the perfect spot! Unfortunately, it was AWFUL. The food was gross, the servers were rude, and overall just not worth the money. We haven’t been back since, which is a bummer because that place obviously has some sentimental value!

Funny thing is, we went to our rehearsal dinner spot for our first anniversary dinner, and it was AWFUL TOO! Glad they both did a better job for the actual wedding day!
