@starla:  how pretty! I don’t think I’ve ever seen your e-ring before on here and it is absolutely whimsical and ladylike! The rose gold is a lovely match for the heart cut, and the bezel setting is perfect with the heart cut stone – totally emphasizes the uniqueness of the heart cut (IMO, most white heart-cut stones tend to look “lost” in the typical prong settings). I think it is really tough to find a setting that works well with a heart cut and doesn’t make the stone look juvenile and to “pull off” a heart cut, and yours plus the coloring of the metal is wonderful! Plus, I have a soft spot for unique/different looking rings that are unique in simple ways.

And your new sapphire is so pretty too. Totally get where you are coming from on your Darling Husband being “hit or miss” with jewelry… my Dad is the same way with clothes; my SO jokes that my dad isn’t quite sure if I’m a nun or a hooker based on the clothes he gives me (the “hooker” article of clothing was a skin-tight long-sleeve lycra-ish crop top in glittery gold. oh Dad…).

@HelloCarly:  Beautiful ring!

We don’t usually do too much for Valentine’s Day – and this year was no exception since we just got back from a lovely vacation.

I decorated the house a little bit, made a special breakfast for Darling Husband (he worked a night shift last night, so it was waiting for him when he got home), and baked him some cookie dough macarons (his favourite).

In return, he brought home a few red roses and some of my favourite chocolates. I was really surprised that he had picked up something for me, as usually he can’t keep a secret for longer than five seconds.

I couldn’t snap a photo of chocolates, because, well… they didn’t last very long.
