That sounds wonderful. I’m a Chef so I am ALWAYS working on Valentines day feeding all of you lovey dovey couples. We usually try to do something special the next day. My Fiance always sends flowers to the restaurant though, he says that I need something special that day too 🙂

We usually exchange “gifts”…he gives me flowers and I give him his picture calendar for the year. Then we’ll go out to dinner somewhere to just celebrate us. We’re big on going out to dinner, so it’s nice to try a new place or something.

This will be our third Valentine’s Day together, and we did different things the first two years. Our first V-Day together we had a picnic in a local park and then later that night for dinner we got a heart shaped pizza from Domino’s. Haha. Last year we went out to dinner, popped into the mall for a few minutes, and then went back to his house. It wasn’t anything overly romantic or exciting because we were both sick. My Fiance bought me and awesome dress a few days ago so I’m sure we’re going out to a nice dinner for Valentine’s Day. There’s this super cute mediteranean restaurant that we went to for our last anniversary, and I’m hoping we’ll go there if we can get reservations.

I’ve always absolutely loved Valentine’s Day, even when I was single. I was never one of those single people who hated it. I mean, it’s a day specifically for love. How could you hate that??

@2PeasinaPod:  Picture calendar? Like a calendar with a picture of you?

Darling Husband and I typically exchange cards and go out to a nice dinner somewhere.  He sometimes gets me flowers too.

We definitely don’t go all out for Valentine’s Day though.  We really don’t treat it much differently than any other nice date night.

Our anniversary is February 18th, so we usually do just something small for valentine’s day and then have a bigger celebration for our anniversary. This year we’ll probably go out for a nice dinner.

@Mrs.Goguen:  That’s sweet…and thanks so much for cooking on Valentine’s Day so that we can eat with our DHs!

@CarolinaCola:  Sort of…Snapfish has calendars that you can make with pictures, so I’ll do a calendar for the whole year, but pictures of us and our families as well as our friends for each month. We have a niece and nephew, so they take up a lot of the calendar :o)

We tend to switch up what we do each year so it’s always a little different, but it’s always some variation of a fun little date in our neighborhood (like going to a coffee shop to read together, window shopping, long walk with our dog, going for a drink at our favorite wine bar, etc.) – followed by cooking dinner together.  I cook dinner 99.9% of the time, so on V-Day, Fiance plans and cooks the meal while I make the dessert!  We drink wine while cooking, and just have a good time.  Last year, Fiance made wild mushroom & asparagus risotto, and I made these little individual sized chocolate lava cakes.  It was awesome!

I love our low-key celebrations, and it’s so much more “us” than going to a fancy restaurant with tons of other couples.

We don’t like to go out on V-day (or holidays of the like) since everyone and their brother seems to be fighting over dinner reservations. Instead, we’re going to an amazing brunch at a local hotel the Sunday before and I’ll cook us a nice dinner at home on V-Day. I’ll probably go to the butcher and get some nice quality filets and make a few yummy sides to go along with them. Pinterest has about a million ideas for vday desserts so I need to weed through those and come up with something that both Darling Husband and I will like. Other than that, we’ll just exchange our gifts (I am SOOOO flipping excited to give him his) and call it a day.

@CarolinaCola:  LOL you could do that too! I figured that he might want to see something other than pictures of me though :o) But it’s a great tradition to start! I made him one on our first Valentine’s Day together and I’ve made him one ever since! He makes me one every Christmas!

We usually go out to dinner, and sometimes do cards. Nothing fancy or over the top. Not sure what we are going to do this year

We don’t celebrate V-Day, is something we stated years ago, now theat we’re planning a wedding we appreciate the savings.
